The Painting Life: Lucero Jiménez is Committed to Professionalism, Responsibility and Honesty

2 min read

In this edition of The Painting Life, we introduce five of the charter members of Hispanic Customer Advisory Board, created under the auspices of Sherwin-Williams. This is Lucero Jiménez.

PRH Residential Paint, LLC is a painting company in Kansas City, Kansas, founded by Manuel and Lucero Jiménez in 2013. Being both from Mexican origin, Lucero was born in Arizona and her husband migrated alone from Veracruz, Mexico, when he was just 17 years old. They married in 2010, when Manuel already had four years of experience as a painter, and Lucero had finished high school a couple of years before.

They founded their company in 2013, eager to create a space where clients, employees and business partners could find Professionalism, Responsibility and Honesty (hence the name PRH Residential).

“It was a name that we thought a lot about and to which we have committed ourselves,” she maintains. “It is an idea that has helped us grow a lot. Our clients call us again and again for new jobs.”

The PRH office is 10 minutes from the state of Missouri.

“You cross a street and go from Kansas to Missouri,” Lucero says. “Almost all of our jobs are less than 45 minutes away, in one state or another. On a day-to-day basis, my husband is in the field with the painters, directing and teaching the boys, and I am in the office, in charge of administration, paperwork, marketing.”

PRH Residential Paint deals mostly in interior and exterior residential painting, and some commercial painting such as retirement homes and property maintenance. They have six employees and three subcontractors.

She and her husband are very grateful for all the support they receive from Sherwin-Williams, she says.

“We love the Hispanic Advisory Board because it is made up of experienced people who have been through a lot and are willing to help newcomers to the industry. There are a lot of young people in this business. More than half of our employees started straight out of high school, and we love that because these are minds that can be molded, that you can inspire. That’s the goal.”
