Sherwin-Williams welcomes new beginnings with its 2022 Color of the Year, Evergreen Fog SW 9130 (215-C4).
“This sophisticated gray-green color is a great choice for modern interiors and exteriors,” says Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams.
Part of the Method palette in the Sherwin-Williams 2022 Colormix Forecast, Evergreen Fog is a soothing, subtle shade you can recommend for use in every part of the home.
Wadden recommends pairing it with organic neutrals such as Shoji White SW 7042 (254-C4), Accessible Beige SW 7036 (249-C1) and Woven Wicker SW 9104 (203-C4), and tonal luxurious hues such as Urbane Bronze SW 7048 (245-C7), Über Umber SW 9107 (203- C7) and Bakelite Gold SW 6368 (128-C4).
Use it in commercial spaces too
Evergreen Fog is also good for freshening up commercial spaces, from hotel rooms to restaurants to offices. The calming and composed color lends itself to multi-use areas, lounges, entry areas and lobbies.
Wadden notes that some contractors might not be interested in the story behind the Color of the Year selection, but their customer might. And being able to have a conversation about that or the Colormix Forecast might build credibility and be the juice that lands a sale.
“This can help guide homeowners,” she says. “You can give them the story behind Evergreen Fog if you’d like, but you can also just say, ‘People are painting green on trims, on cabinets, they’re using it in their mud rooms, they’re using it all over. You might want to consider this instead of Agreeable Gray.’”
